Dermatology Expert, Dr. Alex Gross, Discusses Skin Disease and Skin Cancer on “The Weekly Check-Up”

Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics’ Dr. Alex Gross shares his dermatology expertise on a recent episode of “The Weekly Check-up.” This edition of the healthcare talk radio show originally aired June 12 on 95.5 WSB, Atlanta’s News & Talk. Dr. Gross and host Dr. Bruce Feinberg discuss dermatology, how the field has changed, skin disease, monkeypox, the ABCDEs of skin cancer, and much more.

With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Gross shares how the medical field has evolved throughout his career. He explains how treating patients with complicated skin diseases is different today than it was in the past. With new treatments available on the market, dermatologists can offer more effective options to their patients.

Dr. Gross talks about complex skin diseases and the stigma often associated with them. He shares the benefits and side effects of different medicines on the market used to treat complex skin conditions. Additionally, he explains the common places for eczema and psoriasis to appear on the body, who is more prone to develop skin diseases, and how a skin disease diagnosis can affect a person’s life.

Dr. Gross also explores the topic of skin cancer and the importance of scheduling an annual skin exam. He focuses on the three most common types of skin cancer: basal cell skin cancer, squamous cell skin cancer, and melanoma.

At the close of the program, Dr. Gross discusses another aspect of his job: aesthetics.
