Get Ready! Look More Natural in the New Year!

Jan 15, 2026 | Aesthetic Services

Getting the most out of aesthetics treatments requires forward thinking. Strategically scheduling these appointments can help maximize outcomes, minimize downtime, and protect your skin throughout the year. Having a better understanding of when to book facials, injectables, peels, and laser procedures can lead to smoother, brighter, healthier skin, while lessening the risk of complications. You may even need fewer treatments with some strategy.

As the new year arrives, Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics providers offer some key guidance on how to thoughtfully map out your personal enhancements for 2026.

January-March: Prioritize Skincare

Kick off the year by consulting with one of our board-certified dermatologists or licensed aestheticians. Our experts listen intently to your specific skin concerns and can collaborate with you on a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.

The first three months of the year is considered an excellent window for certain procedures. Thanks to lower UV exposure, it’s great time to experience chemical peels, resurfacing, and laser treatments. Hydrating facials and barrier-repair treatments are well suited for this time of year because cold, dry air and indoor heating can increase the loss of water in the skin. The first quarter is also ideal for preparatory treatments (think moisturization, pigment control, light resurfacing, and gentle peels), which help build skin tolerance and can improve outcomes for deeper peels or laser treatments later in the year. It’s also a great time to pre-book all of your repeat procedures for the year, like Dysport and DiamondGlow facials. You are more likely to stick to your skincare goals when appointments are scheduled in advance.

April-June: Injectables and Moderate Procedures

When the second quarter of 2026 drops, it’s the optimal time for injectables, such as neuromodulators, fillers, and moderate aesthetic procedures. UV exposure continues to remain lower than in peak summer, which minimizes the risk of complications such as delayed healing or hyperpigmentation. Microneedling and mid-depth peels are a great way to showcase your healthy skin for the spring. Checking these aesthetics boxes in April, May, or June provide enough time for patient recovery and results to fully materialize before a busy social summer.

July-September: Maintenance, Glow Boosts, and Sun Protection

As summer rolls around, set your sights on maintenance, glow enhancement, and keeping your skin safe from the sun. While gentle facials, hydrating treatments, and non-invasive procedures help keep earlier results intact and fare well during sunny season. Don’t shy away from treatments during the summer! Many of our procedures can be done over the summer months with proper sun protection and planning. Sometimes, summer is the best time due to more schedule flexibility.  While Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics recommends using sunscreen year-round, it remains especially essential after any aesthetic procedure. Reach for a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen, preferably SPF 45+.

October-December: Time for Lasers, Peels, and Event Prep

When is the best time of year to get laser resurfacing? UV exposure reduces in the fall, making it the perfect setting for laser treatments, as well as peels and collagen-stimulating procedures. The milder conditions lessen the chance of post-procedure pigmentation and support better healing. In preparation for the holiday season, some patients opt to schedule these procedures in early fall to allow time for recovery. Additionally, those looking for a boost of aesthetic confidence often book injectable touch-ups in advance of the end-of-year celebratory season.
